BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Bleachers' Brew Podcast #3 Rant & rave with the colorful and irreverent Hans Smit

Hans Peter Smit has been one of my best friends in the Philippine football scene for quite some time. I consider myself lucky that I am welcome to sit in his La Salle team's bench and to even make in-game suggestions (well I only did that once). This is just the first in a series of interviews with the man so identified with cussing, smoking, and La Salle football.


I put Hans on the spot to name his all-time starting XI and here's what he chose:
