Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Ateneo Blue Eagles news

The Ateneo Blue Eagles squad that will be competing in the 2011 University Games in Roxas City, Capiz will be without their regulars. With Greg Slaughter, Kiefer Ravena, Nico Salva, Emman Monfort, and Justin Chua on national team duty, Oping Sumalinog and Bacon Austria playing in the D-League, the team will have on hand Juami Tiongson, BJ Cipriano, Von Pessumal, Gwynne Capacio, Tonino Gonzaga, Frank Golla, JP Erram, and Jeric Estrada. Eight Team B players will join them and Sandy Arespacochaga will coach the squad.
