BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

The Angry Eagles shirt from Jai Reyes' group

Here's the latest shirt that is the craze of Ateneo Blue Eagles supporters. The "Angry Eagles" shirt is done by Jai Reyes and his group -- coaches Aris, Jon, and Blue. This is the third shirt in a series so you know there will be a few more as the UAAP season progresses. It costs Php300 and is available in blue, black, and white colors.

SHAMELESS PLUG! Look for Jai and his group at Cafe Bola (Araneta Coliseum) before and after games or go to Moro Lorenzo Sports Center in Ateneo when the Blue Eaglets practice. Since it's the off-season for Powerade, Jai helps out with the Blue Eaglets who have been playing well despite a rebuilding year.
