BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

The Night Before (July 21, 2011) or more vids with the Azkals in Kuwait

This is a short video of the Philippine Men's Football Team on its way to its final practice at the Mohammed Al Hamad Stadium in Qadsia on the evening of 21st July. The video is dark as the lighting isn't much inside the team bus. But visible (or it should be) are Misagh Bahadoran, Angel Guirado (with cousin Rafa Garcia who serves as a translator), Jason de Jong, Michael Weiss, Ray Jonsson, Nate Burkey, James Younghusband, and Rob Gier.

The next video was shot outside the team's locker room (after the team's practice at Qadsia) where Ian Araneta grabbed the mic of GMA7 correspondent Chino Trinidad and went goofing off with Boogie Margarse. It was so funny that Chino decided to shoot it as an off take.

This next video is of Yannick Tuason, Chaddy Pacana and myself heading off to the Marina Mall in Salmiya.

  1. That second video is pretty funny. You can hear Chieffy's trademark laugh in the background. Thanks for sharing.
