BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

The long wait is over. Mizuno Azkals kits will FINALLY be on sale!

Amidst production delays and what not, the Mizuno Azkals kit will finally be available this Wednesday at Mizuno stores. This is what our lads will be wearing when they face Sri Lanka this Wednesday at Colombo. The jersey will cost somewhere around 2K. Not bad, I say! Go get some, Azkaleros.

  1. everyone is asking: why they changed the color to dark blue instead of light blue?

  2. So, around 2k for the shirt or with shorts na?

  3. asa ka kasama shorts? ano to tiangge?? hahahaha

  4. I sort of agree with the comment about the shade of blue. It should be royal blue to be inline with the blue on the Philippine flag. Is this considered as the away kit? Or is this the new home kit?

  5. is this the authentic azkals uniform???

  6. I find this shade of blue too dark as it will look like black especially when the uniforms get wet. The previous shade of blue was much better or Royal Blue will be ok too. I also don't like the PFF patch design 'cos it looks dated. Can they change it? Can't they put the Philippine flag there instead of the PFF patch?

  11. You don't like it? Not a problem. Don't buy it. Or buy what you want in Divisoria.

  12. Those who are asking "where can we buy it?" , please READ!

  13. ok lng ang design, pero I agree the shade of blue used is too dark. What I also dont like about the the kit is, its fit. It's sometimes too loose (jersey & shorts). I like more the adidas fit.

  14. where can we buy that? i called 3 mizuno outlets today, even the one in magallanes and they have no idea when they will be selling that kit. heck, they even don't know that there's a new kit. it's really disappointing. hello marketing/sales people of mizuno? talk about blowing your opportunities.

  15. ...rubbish! looks like they will play in a inter barangay league

  16. ok. ang ganda. ayos!

pero kung gusto nyo worth 700 lang na Philippine Football Replica Kit (but not so good quality as Mizuno), may store sa Tutuban Center sa Divi. may Surname at Squad number pa. lahat ng Azkals players meron sila. meron din sila nung Gold Edition ng Home Kit. meron din sila nung Mizuno jacket na binigay nila kay Pres. Pnoy

  17. Quite plain... as usual and this is supposed to be a national team kit? Doesn't look worth anywhere near P2K.

  18. Any kit for kids ages 8 to 10 yrs old???

  19. ANG PANGIT. ITO BA HINIHINTAY NYO? ANG HINIHINTAY KO.. KUNIN NA NG PFF ANG ADIDAS OR NIKE. MIZUNO.. SINUSUKA NGA YAN NG AZKALS, EH. EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS. LOW QUALITY. TAPOS 2K?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sinusuka? Maybe. The funny thing is all those years ago those big companies wouldn't even touch them with a 10-foot pole. Fair-weathered peeps. And you don't have to buy if you don't want.

  21. Whatever! It's the jersey of OUR team. It's not about the design--its about what it represent. Those who don't like it, don't buy it. As far as I am concerned, I will buy one and wear it with pride.

  22. Sir Rick do you have any idea if Mizuno are selling the track jacket tha the azkals are wearing? The one with pff logo ang Philippine flag? Highly appreciate your response. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Should be today. Kindly check my tweets, dude. I made an announcement about that yesterday,

  26. Only 1 item per size per kit (home and away) and no reservations. I can't understand why the limit the supply when there is such a demand :/.

  27. sana my official kit na ang Philippines, yung trademark color. tulad ng ibang bansa,

hindi pa bago bago ng kulay every match. !

dati light blue , ngayon , dark blue,

the only consistent uniform is the white one.!

dati meron kit , used for about then 10 years.

    yung parang flag,

red sa left sleeve , then blue sa kabila.

    white sa middle.

    ngayon. iniba naman ng mizuno.

pero maganda parin, ! I'm buying pero baka ma out stock naman. rush rush

  28. Hi Rick,

Looking at what's available in the Mizuno stores, I see ones with silver Mizuno stripes on the sleeves instead of Gold. Is this a separate set from the one's we see the Azkals wear?

    Thanks!
