BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Standings of Visayas Regionals of PFF Suzuki U23 Cup as of April 17, 2011



Notes: Cebu has not been able to field its best U23 team as many players from San Carlos were not released for the tournament. For Dumaguete, several of their players are in Manila including three of the starting eleven because of entrance exams in Manila. But they should have those three back in time for the match today against Cebu. The home team still has an opportunity to advance if they are able to trip up Iloilo who they will meet on Tuesday the final day of regional qualifiers.
