BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Repeat after me: Tweet if you want a beer!

CNBC reports that 36-year old Kevin Zelko (in photo above taken from his Twitter account) can sell more beers at Safeco Field (in Seattle) by using Twitter. Rather than go up and down the tier boxes, where he sells some 80-100 cans per game (more when the Yankees are in town), he can make more business by engaging the social networking site. All one fan has to do is tweet him at @Msbeervendor and Zelko will be over in a jiffy.

Incredible. As off this writing he has 741 followers on Twitter (I am in fact #739 hahaha). I may not be in Seattle but I am following the dude. When I do go to Seattle, I will look up this dude. Check out these tweets! Bwahaha!

The Santa Claus of refreshments? Bwahahaha. That was real hilarious!
