BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

And the Ateneo Lady Booters get two goals across


I missed the match even if I was nearby (thesis defense while serving as a reader) then helping out a student with his film script. Fellow scribe TJ Jurado texted me what was going on and as much as I wanted to hightail it over to the football field I couldn't. But good job to the Ateneo Women's Team for beating DLSU 2-nil. If they won that match last weekend vs UP then they'd be on good footing. But a win is a win. Thanks to Brosi Gonzales for the shots.
