BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Off to Old Trafford!

You cost us that game, Howard.
But you have to read David Hirshey's analysis on Kenny Dalglish's taking over LFC.

  1. Albeit a Red Devil fan, I have to agree. Deserved Red Card on Stevie G. Lousy penalty call by Howard.

He does have a history of favoring the Red Devils.

  2. As to how Mr. Webb was able to officiate the World Cup Final in the first place completely baffles me.

His performance there (*karate kick!) SHOULD have convinced the FA that this bloke is no big game referee.

And his latest big game cock-up gifted Man U the win.

Playing in OT is tough enough 11 on 11. But to have 12 men (Webb and Berba up front) against 10, that is just asking for a cricket score.

It is a testament to how Liverpool played that the score is only 1-0.

    That said, come on.

BTW, he looks good in a Man U shirt. Probably should wear it out there in the pitch next time.

  3. Howard Webb is known in Liverpool discussion boards and blogs as a Manc. Babel was naughty with this digitally altered picture; but he was spot on!
