BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

The Azkals are on Vietnamese television too

They have a football channel here and last night, I was watching this talk show where they were talking not just about every team but with emphasis on the Philippine team. Funny how many people mention that we've got a lot of imports. Coach Simon clarified that and said that the said players are half-Filipino. I wonder what they say about Singapore. They have a bunch of naturalized Europeans who are legit stars. Got to speak with Singapore's Daniel Mark Bennett. Wanted to interview Aleksandar Duric but couldn't find the opportunity. Wonder how many more playing years he's got since he's 40 already. But what a goal scoring machine he is.

hahaha so bitter huh? that's non-sense!
okay, they should also talk about other NTs in the recent World Cup who fielded naturalized players example Cacau, Marin and Klose for Germany, Vidošić for Australia, blah blah.
