BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

In the championship issue of Rebound...

The latest issue of Rebound magazine (with the San Beda Red Lions on the cover) is out. But that doesn't mean we're not working on the next issue. Right now we produce three issues a year but things look really good then we might go to four issues a year by 2011. But that's some time from now. The third issue -- what we call "the championship issue" will be out this early December.

It will be a flip issue -- the UAAP on one side and the NCAA on the other. The bulk of the material will be on the teams that made the Final Four for each league.

Here's the stuff you will see from me in that issue:
Superfan: Anton Montinola
StagFall (the San Sebastian Stags)
The Cardinal Principle of Consistency (the Mapua Cardinals)
Perfection (the San Beda Red Lions)
Su is a monster (From the Parking Lot -- my column in Rebound)
Just Ballin' (Ryan Buenafe)
