BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Donovan McNabb returns to Philadelphia

It sure is strange seeing Donovan McNabb in Washington gear (he did spend 11 years in Philly) and the standing ovation he got was just right. Interestingly, the man he lobbied for a job with the Eagles, Michael Vick is QB1. That is until he got knocked out of the game with a rib injury after a 23-yard run (that was negated by a holding penalty by a teammate -- dumbass). Benched former starter Kevin Kolb nearly won but came up a little short. The Redskins won 17-12.

Am in the midst of finishing Friday Night Lights Season 3 and am at the part where it's either Matt Saracen or JD McCoy for QB1 for the Dillon Panthers. I am a huge fan of Friday Night Lights and maybe you should be too.

  1. McNabb put up less than stellar numbers in his return to Philly, but did just enough to win the game. The Eagles look to have two viable options at quarterback now with Kolb's emergence.
