BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Planning our championship issue

The staff of Rebound magazine. Planning the championship issue for December 2010 release at Redbox, Greenbelt. We also celebrating our first sell out. Woo hoo. Could it be the Blue Eagles on the cover? Maybe one factor but it's hard to tell. From left to right: Kenneth Ti, Mike Yu, me, Anton Roxas, Chris Soler, Sid Ventura, Mike Abasolo, and Gary Mercado. Our photogs weren't here: Bob Guerrero, Paul Ryan Tan, and Raddy Mabasa. It was more of a writers' meet and we're going to have a follow up probably right after the UAAP Finals.

It's a different format from last year's championship issue. We're sure you're going to love it. The teams that will be featured will be the four teams from each league UAAP and NCAA that made the Final Four. And there's one on UP and UPHSD. We are in the process of also looking for other writers (we are also looking for female writers). We place a premium on writing, okay? Send samples to me in my addy. If you don't know where my addy is then don't bother.

Some Rebound trivia: we have not featured UST. That's not intentional of course.
