BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Guesting on the Sports Insider

Was a guest today on the Sports Insider. I previously made three appearances on the show when it was known as The Score. Good friend Noel Zarate has been trying to get me on board for a while now but the skeds just could never agree. Now that it opened up, Noel was in Baguio. Anyhow, it was nice catching up with Jinno Rufino and meeting new friends Miakka Lim and Gaby dela Merced. Will be writing about Gaby's toy store soon!

Topics for discussion -- the UAAP and NCAA Final Four, the English Premier League, blogging, and FIBA. In case you want to know, in the pic above, I was wearing a Latrell Sprewell New York Knicks jersey. I wish I had my Marcus Camby. Left it in my NY apartment. Wish there was more time to discuss the topics. Every segment was five minutes long.
