BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

He said, "What?"

FIFA President Sepp Blatter joked that he is surprised that Fabio Capello removed John Terry as England captain because of the negativity of his affair with the girlfriend of a ex-Chelsea teammate Wayne Bridge. "Listen, this is a special approach in the Anglo-Saxon countries. If this had happened in let's say Latin countries then I think he would have been applauded."

No wonder FIFA is like that. And it trickles down to the AFC and the PFF. It is governed by morons. And that is not a joke.

I'm inclined to agree that when people get older they become vulgar. Who is that idiot ex-senator who made a remark about Mar Roxas' wife? It's an epidemic of morons who do not get any action.
