BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

More outtakes from the 2010 Ateneo Sports Calendar

Fab Four? Shot taken without Kirk Long who had yet to arrive. Men in Black meets Moro Lorenzo.
The Ateneo Men's Football Team. An outtake but not bad, eh? Thanks to my bros here -- Anton, James, Luigi, RS, Gab, and Mar. See ya on the pitch.
The plan for the Blue Babble Battalion was to do an Abbey Road (the Beatles) shot. And with Abby Agoncillo from the Brass Band on board, it seemed a natural. But we ended up doing a shot that also pays homage to Michael Jordan that in all likelihood will appear on the calendar. This is Ken, Abby, Katsy, and Gico getting ready for their Penshoppe shot.
Bacon Austria is Mr. Cool. The hoopsters in the calendar are: Eric Salamat, Kirk Long (making his second appearance in the calendar), Bacon, Nico Salva, and Justin Chua.

Others making a second appearance are: James (football), Paolo (badminton), Ed (volleyball), JR (judo), and if she can make it to the cover -- Kara (volleyball).
