BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

What wall?


In Shakey's V-League action, Lyceum Lady Pirates Nica Guliman and Tin Casanova fail to stop Adamson's Gela Benting from hammering that ball through. Adamson won 25-20, 13-25, 25-23, 18-25, 15-13 to even their record to 1-1.

And the Lady Spikers won their first game today with a three-set sweep of UP 25-23, 25-13, 25-13. Charo Soriano scored 13 points while Kara Acevedo added 12 and Dzi Gervacio and Fille Cainglet chipped in 11. Yahoo!
