BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Two things here

I’d like to ask if there are any generous souls out there who would like to help out a scholar. Not with a scholarship because he already has one. I am looking for only five people to chip in P500 each. Yes you heard right – five hundred pesos for each person for a total of P2,500 and that’s to help him with his upkeep ‘til the end of the school year. To learn more about that, kindly email me and we can proceed from there.

Second, I have four tee-shirt designs that will be out by mid-next week. Prices will be announced this weekend and it will be available for a day with me before it all goes to the Loyola Bookstore. After the first four, there will be two more. And a bunch of that afterwards. I won’t be posting pictures here. Sorry. Maybe of people wearing it but not the design itself.

I was kidding when I’m calling my line as Get Crew. Jeez. It’s OGBD. When we go on sale next week ask me what that stands for.
