BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

With some good friends

Inside the FEU locker room this afternoon, I chatted with Glenn Capacio and his staff about the Reil Cervantes suspension, the non-suspension of some guys, the national team, and stuff. Finished my interview with Mark Barroca for the next issue of Rebound and chatted some about Smart Gilas' participation in the PBA and their tournaments in the Netherlands and Dubai. I've became good friends with Mark (and JR Cawaling) even before I got the choice assignment to follow the national team. But the trip abroad where sama kami in spicy food and hoops cemented that friendship. Incidentally, I wrote about Mark's crossover move.

Happy birthday to JR Cawaling. Guess you had a good day coz your team won too, huh? Sige kita kits with sina Dylan (Ababou) sa 2009 NBA Asia Challenge.
