Once the UAAP Men's Basketball competition begins, no one will be able to question or protest the eligibility of any player. The league is now going through the papers of all the players and board members must raise their concerns now. FEU's Anton Montinola bared that rule change in yesterday's press con. "We have asked each one to raise their questions now if they have any because it suggests malice and bad faith and almost like conduct unbecoming of a gentleman."
To address scalping, especially in the matches between Ateneo and La Salle, Montinola revealed that two sets of tickets will be sold. In the case of the August 9 game, the match between the two rivals will be at 1pm and everyone will be asked to leave immediately after to make way for those watching the next game. "We'll have two sets of tickets for August 9. In short, we will double the supply. And since we're talking about the law of supply and demand, then the prices should go down. From about 17,000 tickets, we might have at least 30,000 available tickets. This should help address scalping and bring the prices down."
The UAAP will also be getting a select group of officials from the PBA and the PBL to officiate the games.
