BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Halikinu Radio Episode 2

July 16, 2009. The metro was under water but we all made it to the station safe and dry! After all, the Blue Eagles played one heck of a game to turn the tables on UE so we really wanted to talk about it. The hosts were all in tonight and we were more relaxed. Halata ba?

Portia was the host for the show tonight. It was supposed to be Marts but I think he swapped muna. Girl did a great job. And she's got immersion tomorrow in Batangas. Have a safe trip.

Martin and Chuck dissect the FEU game. This photo was taken for all of Marts' fans out there.

This is one of our student production assistants, Evee. Belated Happy Birthday, girl! And good job.

Two-fourths of the Fighting Temptations. That's me waiting for Mhel to finish his take on the upcoming UST game. Treena Limgenco of the Ateneo Lady Eagles is in the background.

With NiƱo Avenido, bassist of alt-metal band Greyhoundz and Ateneo alumnus.

The Halikinu Radio hosts with Treena Limgenco of the Lady Eagles. They won their first game of the season by beating the UE Amazons yesterday.

Am hosting the show next week. We're going to tackle the format somewhat differently and have new segments too. Look out for it. And I think we're having Magnum Membrere, LA Tenorio, and Nico Salva on the show too!

Thanks to Mhel for the other pix!
