BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Friday around the horn

Look who's caddying for the Shark at Augusta? It's Chrissie Evert-Norman. Third time's the charm, yes?

Can anyone help me find out if there is a CD or digital version of Abra Moore's version of the A Flock of Seagulls classic "Space Age Love Song." Her cover version is way cool. I've checked soundtracks and it isn't there as well.

Joke Time! This is just a joke so don't over react, dimwits.
On the blue chip recruit for this coming UAAP basketball season
Recruiter: Hey, Arvie... bringas back to the Promised Land.
Arvie (to his mom): Ma, pinangakuhan tayo ng lupa't bahay pag nag-champion ang team ko!

DISCLAIMER: Pag di niyo nakuha yung "Promised Land" na joke, eh, bobo ka talaga.

Want to bet perfect attendance siya this coming season? Hey, I didn't say class ha. Basketball games lang. The Scholar is in session.

All of a sudden, National University loses two players in consecutive seasons; one to DLSU and now to UE. What is the world coming to these days? But don't laugh. They're gunning for a UAAP title within the next three years. And that is possible.
