BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Archie dumps Betty for Veronica

It's one of the oldest sub-plots in the world or in Hollywood or in Milan.

Cool Boy meets Cool Girl. Cool Girl spurns Cool Boy. Cool Boy goes to Simple Girl to tide him over then dumps her. Cool Boy returns to Cool Girl and also to curry the favor of Rich Dad. Clever, huh?

It sounds so.... Archie. At least that's how hilarious the chit chat turned out with a friend when we had quite a laugh over a cup of cappuccino. Ah... si Italiano! Ciao, Milano!

So continues the comic sopa opera of David Beckham who now wants to go to AC Milan (Veron-ica hehehehe) so Fabio Capello (England bossman otherwise known as Mr. Lodge) will add him to the line up of the Three Lions for the 2010 World Cup.

In the meantime, plain Jane LA Galaxy (Betty) is feeling spurned. And you know what they say about a woman scorned.

So do the Galaxy get Jughead in return (Ronaldinho)? Get it from Inside Edition when we return! Bwahaha
