BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Five Minutes with Jason Castro

Rick: O, Jason, nasusundan mo pa yung games ng PCU?
Jason: Siyempre. Nandun pa yung pagmamalasakit kahit paano. Hindi maganda yung nangyari sa kanila this year at sa ginawa rin ng NCAA. Ah… parang binitin nila tapos puro talo.

Jason: Sobra. The PBA is the PBA di ba? Pangarap ko yun nung bata pa ako.

Rick: Sino ba favorite team mo nung bata ka?
Jason: Ginebra! Yan sina Bal David at Vince Hizon. Yan ang favorite ko noon. Ang galeng ng dalawang yun. Ginebra naman kahit sino noon.

Rick: Gaby Espinas.

Europe 'yan. Magandang experience yan. Okay ang Talk ‘N Text.

Rick: Good luck sa pro career.
Jason: Salamat! Olrayt.

Squad News:
The Talk 'N Text squad will be leaving for Italy for two weeks training according to Assistant Coach Aboy Castro.
Sportilia is a multi-purpose sports training centre in Italy based at 750 metres above sea level, not far from Bologna, Rimini, and San Marino. The high-altitude training should help the team with their conditioning. No truth to Ren Ren Ritualo trade (heard that from PBA source) but the squad has every intention of signing Pong Escobal despite the logjam at the PG position
