BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Higantes!

photos taken by me on a rainy verdammt day

By the way, I wrote the copy on the huge streamer/billboard on the side of the gym:

"1987. 1988. 2002. It's time to add another stripe."

Perfecto if ya ask me. Yesiree! I love the adidas Ateneo merch except for the tees.

If you ever pass by the Blue Eagle Gym, take a gander at these "Higantes" standees by adidas of your favorite Blue Eagle hoopsters. The university just got itself another landmark for digi-cam shots.

The betting now is which is more hot property, the player standees (the Chris Tiu in particular) or St. Ignatius' sword? Ateneo Security says they'll be watching everything with eagle eyes.

Notice the bus with the "DLSZ" on it? That was taken during a UAAP Juniors game at the old barn.
