BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Road Kill or Street Pizza Part 1

ISTANBUL, Turkey -- Bruno Senna, nephew of the late three-time Formula One world champion Ayrton, hit a stray dog that ran onto the track during a GP2 support race at the Turkish Grand Prix on Sunday, ending the Brazilian's hopes of victory.

The safety car was deployed after two dogs appeared on the track during the race, about three hours before the grand prix was due to start.

Senna, 24 years old and co-championship leader coming into the weekend, hit one of the dogs. The impact broke his car's front right suspension.

The other dog escaped through an exit gate.

The Brazilian, who had worked his way up to sixth place from 15th on the starting grid before the impact, made his anger evident when he returned to the pits.
