Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. Ex-Eagles on the move?

(This appears in the Monday February 4, 2008 edition of the Business Mirror in the bottom of the Red Bull story)

Larry Fonacier, meanwhile, is reportedly set to join the Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants. Fonacier, the 2005 Rookie of the Year who played for Red Bull first before he was shipped to Magnolia at the beginning of the 2007-’08 season, is set to fill up what one source says is a thin line-up at the small-forward spot. Also, another former Atenean JC Intal is said to be on the move from Air21 to Barangay Ginebra. The player Ginebra will give up to get the rookie Intal is not yet identified.
