BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

It's a bleeping epidemic

Three days after Dennis Balore was arrested for taking videos of volleyball players showering, another perv has been accosted taking video shots of Ateneo women players during a game inside Blue Eagle Gym. This perv who is a former player for the Air Force team passed himself off as working for Ateneo coach Ronald Dulay when approached by suspicious campus security. Tournament head Edwin Barber of UP checked the tape of the video cam and the shots weren't of the game, but shots of players' assets.

The tape was confiscated and the person banned from the school grounds.

Jeez, this is an epidemic. Now, what's going to happen to us legit videographers and photographers?
