BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

The Tuna is still with Dallas

Bill Parcells who is affectionately nicknamed the Big Tuna (after a locker room joke while serving as the New England Patriot's linebacker coach in 1980) may be a over a year out as coach of the Dallas Cowboys, but the spirit of the fish is still in Texas.

Tony Romo, he of the potential to be the best quarterback in Dallas since Troy Aikman rode off into the sunset, has made sure that everything remains fishy in America's Team as he is currently dating Jessica Simpson. Yup she of the Newlyweds reality television show and "Is this chicken, what I have, or is this fish? I know it's tuna, but it says, 'Chicken of the Sea'" quotable quote.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers great and current FOX NFL analyst Terry Bradshaw called out Romo for his quick getaway to Mexico with Simpson just a few days away from their win-or-go-home game vs. the New York Giants.

Well the Big Tuna lasted four season in Dallas going 34-32 with zero play-off wins.
The Newlyweds was out of MTV after two seasons.
Well, let's hope the third time's the charm or Tony Romo will go the way of Hideo Nomo.
