#3 is Adam Morrison
#15 is Matt Bouldin
The West Coast Conference teams -- the University of San Francisco, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, Portland, St. Mary's, San Diego, and Santa Clara -- must be shaking their heads in disgust. and dismay. What must they do to oust Gonzaga (total student population: 6,700 students) as the perennial WCC champion?
The Zags are 4-0 in conference play and 15-4 over-all. And even worse, they got a guy who strangely resembles former Bulldog Adam Morrison in almost every way... 6'5" soph guard Matt Bouldin.
They've got the unkempt mop that passes for their hair, they're both from Colorado, and they can shoot.
Another intriguing fact for me regarding the Zags are some of its players such as 6' 10" freshman forward Austin Day who is the son of former NBA player and Boston Celtic Darren Daye and a 6'2" guard out of Chicago named Jeremy Pargo. Yup, he's the younger bro of former Bull and current New Orleans Hornet Jannero. Despite his lean frame, Daye is a strong contributor for coach ninth year coach Mark Few. Now here's hoping that returning junior Josh Heytvelt puts behind his unfortunate bout with substances to help the Zags win a 10th straight WCC title and get into the NCAA tourney (he should learn from the disgraced Theo Davis).
Go Zags! Go Jesuit hoops!
