BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

Picture Stuff

The new Tower Sports NBA magazine is out albeit two months delayed. It sure is fun writing for my editor there Henry Liao who I used to read a lot when I was growing up. I chipped in the Eastern Conference preview. For the next issue I'll be writing about watching the NBA games in the USA, getting harassed by Knicks fans, meeting Dwyane Wade, my first time to catch a game at Rucker Park, ballin' at West 4, and rebounding for Manu Ginobili.

Congratulations to the Laterres as they welcome their new born Zoe!
