BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

UAAP News

Boysie Zamar and a Talk 'N Text assistant coach are the candidates for the Adamson Falcons head coaching position. Jing Ruiz is reported to remain assistant. Team management wants to bring in a seasoned coach since the Falcons are said to have a good team with a Fil-Am player also being elevated from their Team B.

Also reported but not yet confirmed that most of the UAAP basketball matches will be held in Blue Eagle Gym. The big matches like ADMU-DLSU will be held at the Big Dome as usual.

The Ateneo Blue Eaglets beat SSC in MMBL play.
