The Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup named its second batch of awardees for the Week of April 22-27.

Based on statistical points, the Master Best Player of the Week is Ateneo’s Kiefer Ravena who chalked up 49 points during the Blue Eagles’ run for that period that saw wins over Letran, the University of the East, and Lyceum of the Philippines University.

Named to the Gatorade Best Five for the same period are Ateneo's Kiefer Ravena, National University’s Ray Parks, Arellano University’s James Forrester and Nard Pinto, and San Sebastian’s Jon Rebollos.

The Gatorade Defensive Player of the Week is Southwestern University’s Landry Sanjo. The 6’7’ Cameroonian collected a total of 33 rebounds to go with a rebound and a block for the week. SWU ended its maiden stint in the annual summer tournament with a three-game winning streak for a 3-5 record. The Cobras defeated UAAP power UST, 64-63, last Saturday to hand the Tigers their first loss in three matches.

For the Monday, May 6 Filoil matches, NU takes on fellow UAAP foe the Adamson Falcons in their last match for the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup prior to their departure for Perth, Australia. The Bulldogs, defending tournament champions who are 5-0 as of today, will be joining a semi-pro tournament as a guest team as part of their preparations for the coming UAAP wars. The pocket tourney will be over in a little over the week.

The Bulldogs will be taking on the 1-1 Falcons who lost last Saturday to the also still undefeated Arellano University Chiefs, 80-71, who are now at 4-0. The Chiefs went up by 24 points before the Falcons, behind second year forward Jericho Cruz masterminded a comeback that eventually fell short.

The two teams tangle at 2:30pm at the San Juan Arena while in the main game at 4pm, winless Emilio Aguinaldo College go up against Letran. The Knights defeated the San Sebastian Stags 96-94 in overtime in their last outing while EAC fell to UE 97-66.
