The Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup
is more than halfway done and tournament officials announced the weekly
awardees.
The Gatorade Best Five of the Week
(May 1-4, 2013) are Letran’s Raymond Almazan, the University of the East’s
Charles Mammie, National University’s Alfred Aroga, Southwestern University’s
Landry Sanjo, and San Sebastian College-Recoletos’ CJ Perez.
And for the second consecutive week,
SWU’s Sanjo is the Gatorade Best Defensive Player after he registered 30
rebounds, three steals, and eight blocks while leading the Cobras to three
consecutive wins. SWU wrapped up their Filoil stint with a 3-5 record with
Sanjo leading the way for the Cobras.
The Master Best Player of the Week is
Letran’s Almazan who compiled 27 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, one steal,
and four blocks. The 6’7” center led to a 2-1 record in the summer games.
