Ever week, we poll dedicated UFL watchers about their rankings on Division One football. This week’s respondents include Mikhail De Guzman, Ryan Fenix, Bob Guerrero, Roy Moore, Rick Olivares, and Cedelf Tupas.

Global – Tried and tested. Still on top. Air Force battled them, stopped them to be more exact for the first 85 minutes of what was up to then a scoreless draw. Then Global scored two goals in six minutes to prevent falling to second place and continue their stranglehold on the UFL’s Division One standings. Big week as they face Stallion in a potential clash that could shake the standings.

Loyola – Struggled for a bit before putting away Nomads when their midfield went to work. Best game for the Sparks since Freddy Gonzalez went out. Big games in their remaining matches. The next few weeks will test Loyola’s championship mettle.

Stallion – Falls to third because of their spotty second half of play in their last four matches. A late goal by Rufo Sanchez eased the pressure on a hard fighting Pachanga-Diliman.

Kaya – Won their first match with their new coach. The last few games have also seen Sean Illif become an important player to this club. And with the return of Jonah Romero to active play, they hope that with a full crew and new additions, the turnaround will continue.

Nomads – Manager Tonichi Severino says that every time they have a match, they do not know who will suit up. And that also translates into, “What kind of Nomads team will play today?” Is it the team that nearly battled Global to a standstill or is the one that got battered against Loyola? We’ll find out this week when their newbies suit up.

Pachanga – By all means a very good team, but they cannot seem to put things together. Good addition in Alireza Jamali up front but they have to be more consistent and not just play well for one half then disappear in the other.

PSG – A draw and then a win. Has PSG put it together? They are still awaiting some additions before the end of the March transfer deadline. But they have played well of late. That stunner against Green Archers United will add to their confidence.

Green Archers United – The slump continues. A record of 1-1-4 is shocking considering their off-season additions and the mid-season return of Jon Melliza (who has scored three goals in three matches). GAU has had problems about conceding early goals. They scored first against PSG but surrendered two late goals to send them into another funk.

Army – Embattled and controversial. Are they losing it? Their first round derby with Air Force is looming. How huge is this? A win will keep one team out of the tenth spot where relegation looms.

Air Force – Sad to see the former champions in this state. They played well against Global causing the defending champs anxious moments but they caved in at the end. Big match with Army this week.
