Suzuki Cup coverage & Thai kits with media colleagues

We were planning on all wearing Thailand jerseys for a group picture but Cedelf Tupas hadn't gotten his kit just yet at the time this was snapped up. And the others not in the pic, well, I don't think they are into this kit stuff anyways. Anyways, from left to right doing the wai: Mark Escarlote, me, Olmin Leyba, and Jonas Terrado.

The cool thing about the coverage of the group stages of the Suzuki Cup was being once more with friends from the international press corps from previous trips in Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore and of course, members of the Philippine media. It made this trip more fun and interesting when it came to discussions or even verifying info.

Outside Supachalasai Stadium are a couple of streets lined with football shops. Most of them sell knock off kits. There are two that sell original kits but they are for Thai Premier League and futsal teams. The blue shirt (#10 Teerasil Dangda) I got is from Grand Sports, the official outfitter of Thailand's national teams. I love the material used by Grand Sports. The design is very simple but when you look at it closely, it's also very intricate. I know that the previous incarnation of Pachanga had all their kits made it Thailand. Not sure if it's exactly Grand Sports. But the material was pretty good. I also picked up two Muangthong United shirts that are both manufactured by Grand Sports that have left me extremely pleased with my purchases. Who says that only Nike and adidas have a monopoly on quality sports apparel? Looks like I was able to influence the guys in becoming kit afficionados. Hahaha.

In the picture below, it's a few of us at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport before going home today.
