My column about Ray Allen's departure from Boston

I was in Singapore when news broke that Ray Allen had signed with rival Miami. Checking the internet news feed, Boston Celtics fans heaped abuse on Allen effectively labeling him a turncoat. But was he really one? I chose to write about it for my column in ph.nba.com. This is the first time a column of mine has gotten on the front page of the microsite instead of the usual blog section. Hope it does make sense and it debunks all this "traitor" stuff that many have gotten ass backwards. 

But for the sake of argument, what player has left for a heated rival? Dennis Rodman, John Salley, and James Edwards all took shots at the Chicago Bulls in their championship celebrations. But all three joined the Bulls during their title runs of the 1990s. Of the Bad Boys vets, it was Rodman who was a key player for the Bulls. How about Robert Horry who started out as a Houston Rocket before he joined the Lakers and later the Texas team's intra-state rival, the San Antonio Spurs. Does Trent Tucker count? He once sank the Bulls with an improbable three-pointer with a second or less left. he also joined Chicago during the first wave of three-peat titles. How about Grant Hill leaving Detroit for Orlando that sought to rebuild post-Shaquille O'Neal? The list goes on.
