Here's Part 1 of the pilot podcast of what will be a regular project for the four of us -- Bob Guerrero, Cedelf Tupas, Ebong Joson, and myself. This one briefly, if you can call a one hour and seventeen minute podcast brief, or gabs about the 2010 Suzuki Cup, the home match versus Mongolia, highlights of the year and the LA Galaxy. More to come.

We'll also be answering questions posed on Twitter, text, Facebook or email. And later on we will have guests (we ain't telling who it's going to be just yet).

ReplyDeleteyey! i'm super happy na merong ganto! i love hearing your personal experiences with the team and with the game. mas authentic ang mga pangyayari hearing it from true fans, from their point of view. parang na-re-live ko uli ang buong taon ng great football sa bansa. tama kayo, now filipino football fans can now actually come out and freely talk about the game that we love. i now actually have people to interact with as well. sana nga maging regular itong podcast niyo and i do hope you get to have some of the players and staff of the azkals (misagh please,hehe). great job! and thank you!

I still remember watching the Singapore vs Philippines game which was being aired on Star Sports last year and screamed my lungs off like a crazy guy when we scored a goal to tie the score 1-1 late in the game. I was stunned and there begun my love affair with the Azkals. I made sure to watch the Philippines vs Vietnam game a few days after and went absolutely insane when we scored the 1st goal and went bonkers when the 2nd goal was made against the defending champions! Wow! I told my friends about the Azkals on Facebook and Twitter that night and posted it on my status message because people at that time didn't even know who they were and didn't know what the Suzuki Cup was.

ReplyDeleteLoved the Podcast from the states. I remember it was so difficult to find a stream of the game against Vietnam, but once I did the one friend that stayed up all night with me and I were glued to the laggy TV. When Chris had the diving header, we both started jumping up and down, which promptly had my neighbor come bang on my door, since it was 5am in the morning. I remember Neil's HUGE save with his face, and the finishing goal. The announcer was just as stunned as the stadium. After we won, I made a presentation to my Filipino Organization at school in hopes to get more people behind the team. Thanks a lot for bringing back the memories and keep up the great work!

haha! This was fun! May katapat na ang "Boys night Out." LOL. Hope that in part two you guys can reveal the mystery of who taught Landon Donovan the phrase, "Kita-kits." hehehe

The "kitakits" used by Landon Donovan was for the Gatorade Facebook chat that we did. My colleague Laica Turingan told him to use that. He already used the "Mabuhay" which is so common. So he used the "kitakits" in the chat and video. And his twitter afterwards.

ReplyDeleteOh and, someone posted in the Missology forums a link to the Big Soccer Forums fans discussing the LA Galaxy vs Azkals game. There were several Galaxy fans who really enjoyed the commentating job by Mr.Bob Guerero and Mr.Darren Hartman. Some were even saying Galaxy should take Bob and Darren along with Phil YH back to the STates since they were better than the US or AUssie commentators. LOL

There was a UFL game in nomads that night but we the organizers were in the nomads bar watching! during the first goal, the people in the bar were celebrating and the game was stopped for 3 minutes as the players and officials were celebrating with us!! after the second goal, the players and officials came back again to celebrate!!! we were so happy that night! the next morning felt like christmas!!! Extreme jubiliation!!!
