Villareal Stadium, Roxas City -- After Ateneo's freshman Mikko Mabanag scored on a spectacular corner kick to give the Blue Eagles a 1-nil lead, Dipolog Medical Center College came back in the second half to score two goals to win 2-1. In the picture above, DMCC winger Bryan Gumela scored on a penalty that leveled the match. Renando Mantua scored late in the second half to win the match.
Over at the women's side, De La Salle University destroyed Foundation University 5-0. The rains over the past three days reduced the fields to a muddy patch of earth. While there was some element of skill, a lot of luck and defensive lapses produced goals. It wasn't really fun to watch.
