Questions about the Ateneo Football League

About the Ateneo Football League

QUESTION: It says in the rules that former varsity players should join the open group. Who counts as former varsity players? For example, if they were varsity grade school and high school but not during college, are they considered former varsity players? Or only former UAAP college varsity players are considered as varsity?
IF A PLAYER’S LAST PLAYING YEAR WAS IN GRADE SCHOOL OR HIGH SCHOOL, THEN HE IS STILL ELIGIBLE TO PLAY IN BOTH THE OPEN AND JUST FOR FUN DIVISION.  PLAYERS WHO PLAYED IN THE UAAP AND NCAA (TEAM A), SEMI-PRO AND PRO LEAGUES (EX.UFL, P-LEAGUE, MPFL, 1ST DIVISION), AND FORMER OR CURRENT SENIOR MEN’S NATIONAL TEAM CAN ONLY PLAY IN THE OPEN DIVISION.

QUESTION: What if we have teammate who is 32 years old? But we're all 21-30 years old. Which division will we be placed in?
THE 32 YEAR OLD CAN PLAY IN THE 30 AND BELOW GROUP.  BUT VICE-VERSA, NOT ALLOWED.  SAME GOES FOR THE OTHER “ALUMNI MEN’S” AGE GROUPS.

QUESTION: Is there a required number of years of study in Ateneo? 1 of our possible players studied for a few years in Ateneo but did not graduate there. Can he still join us?
MINIMUM 2 YEARS OF ATENEO EDUCATION REGARDLESS OF GRADE LEVEL.

QUESTION: In the meeting this Saturday, do we have to pay the 11 thousand fee already?
YES, YOU MAY DO SO IF YOUR TEAM IS READY.

QUESTION: After the group stages, there will be a final ranking phase right? Will that be just 1 game?
AFTER THE GROUP STAGE, WE GO ON TO THE FINAL RANKING STAGE.  EACH WILL PLAY 1 GAME.  (FOR EX: 1Avs1B, 2Avs2B, 3Avs3B and so on).  1A VS 1B IS TECHNICALLY THE FINALS.

The venue for the launch (which will be in Ateneo) will be announced by Wednesday. It's going to be on Saturday Feb. 19 at 1030-1130am. See you there! On the final day of the summer AFL (yes we are planning an 11-a-side second cup that's an invitational), there will be an All-Star Game with a tailgate party.

Here are the rules and regulations that we posted the other day:
