Keeping Steve Nash in Phoenix

You see on the upper right side that 477 people like Steve Nash. I was the 477th person to click on that button. The Phoenix Suns are no longer the Western power they used to be after losing the Matrix, Amare, Joe Johnson, Boris Diaw, and Paul Shirley. Hmm. Seriously. They lost a great novelist and blogger. Kidding aside, they took Hedo Turkoglu who has the work ethic of a jar of peanut butter. The athletic work off the boards and the passing lanes by Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudemire are gone. So are you surprised by the drop off now that they are 14-18? I'd tell you more what's wrong with these Suns (and it isn't Steve Nash) but I thought that Tyler Emerick is a better authority to do so.

Take a look at Steve Nash's stats through the years. Click on the images to enlarge them. The great thing about Nash -- no dumbass sports broadcaster has given him a nickname. Thank God for that! No frills Steve Nash. All game. All heart. NBA All-Star. Now I like Goran Dragic and will be a fine player for the Suns as Nash winds up his Hall of Fame career but it would be bleeping TRAGIC if they let Nash go as well (with that roster they are lucky to be 2nd in the Pacific). But it's a business. I have to remind myself that it's a business.

  1. Come home to Canada Steve and bring the Coyotes with you.

  2. One more reason to like Steve Nash -- bringing soccer to Vancouver as part-owner of the new Major League Soccer club Whitecaps.
