UAAP forwards to look out for: Ken Acibar and Eric Camson

These two wingmen are really picking up their game bigtime. UE's Ken Acibar shows plenty of promise with his medium range shot, shotblocking, and rebounding. I love his turnaround jumper with its beautiful spiral. Just watching it fly towards the net (and it's usually all net) is a luxury from the baseline point of view. Now he just has to work on his focus and shot selection. He tends to take those 15-foot shots without a rebounder anywhere in sight. And this forward has either two or three dunks this season already. And a botched attempt as well.

As for Eric Camson, he has rebounded quite well from last season's highs and lows. Early in the year, Ateneo head coach Norman Black singled him out as Adamson's best player despite the presence of Lester Alvarez and Alex Nuyles. And everyone is finding out now why that is so. Unlike Roider Cabrera who has lost all confidence in his shot, Camson even if he is missing his shots will continue to stick them. And he really takes pride in his being a better defensive player. His emergence makes the Falcons an even tougher team to beat because they've got clutch players in Alvarez, Nuyles, and Jerick CaƱada. Now there's Camson and this other lanky wingman who has really emerged this year -- Janus Lozada. This QC kid has been playing more minutes and has been making some good shots. He is this team's version of FEU's Paul Sanga.

Incidentally, Camson and Lozada are the UAAP Players of the Week.
