Thoughts on the CSB-SSCR game

The following are thoughts running through my mind at different intervals during the game.

Forty-five minutes before the game between CSB and SSCR.

The Stags are incredibly loose. Jonathan Semira is skipping rope. Eric Gatchalian and Gilbert Bulawan are kidding around. Calvin Abueva is having a laugh at their expense.

In contrast, the Blazers are stretching outside their locker room. Some are watching the juniors match between Mapua and EAC. Most are quiet. Lost in their thoughts.

The Stags are awfully confident or is the word, "overconfident?" A 5-0 record can make you feel that way.

CSB coach Richard del Rosario tells them to get the loss to EAC out of their mind and to focus on San Sebastian. That already requires all their concentration.

Halftime
True enough, the Stags came out playing easy. And the Blazers made them pay with many second chance points. CSB taking the ball right to the rack while fishing for fouls. Richard del Rosario sat on his seat by the bench for only one minute.

Game changer -- back-to-back steals of rookie Blazer Luis Sinco that Jonathan Semira and Eric Gatchalian converted into baskets. Maybe now they are taking the Blazers seriously.

San Sebastian up at the half 45-39.

After the game, Ato Agustin confirmed his worry about his team's tendency to relax. Although he did admit that he tried new combinations but the fact that they turned their intensity down several notches is worrisome.

Check out the proper game account up above.
