Soccer Fiesta gives Pinoys chance to watch the World Cup live

Castrol is giving away an all-expense paid trip to Johannesburg, South Africa to Filipino footballs fans to watch the 2010 World Cup FINALS Match as the grand prize. Only one winner will win this. Every purchase of at least 4 Liters of a specific Castrol product, entitles the bearer to a one-time slot at the Skills Challenge Qualifiers. He can participate at any of the following qualifying events beginning April 10-11 @ the SM Mall of Asia (Music Hall), April 17-18 @ the SM Megamall (Event Center), and May 1-2 @ the BLOCK Atrium SM City North Edsa.

All activities are soccer related and purely individual competitions from interactive gaming to skills challenges. Participants can pre-register at www.soccerfiesta2010.multiply.com or sign up at the venue on event day.

All event days will run from 10am to 8pm and is open to all male and female of all ages. Entrance is free.

Soccer Fiesta is being held in partnership with CASTROL, an official partner of this year's FIFA World Cup. Other brands supporting this event are Sony, McDonald's and Adidas. Participants can pre-register at www.soccerfiesta2010.multiply.com or sign up at the venue on event day.


Going to South Africa?

Fly Cathay via HK or Singapore Airlines via Singapore. You also might be able to get a better fare though via Malaysian or Emirates.

Hotels will be a bit of a problem as I hear they are all booked up.

You can change money at the airport but the rate will be crap.

Otherwise change dollars through a friend who can buy dollars at the market mid-point rate. If you don’t have a friend… aww, that’s too bad.

Avoid public transport. Better to rent or arrange a private taxi. Or there are registered taxi companies you could call.

When in SA, why not do something on the "melting pot" that is Joburg - different cultures, cuisines, etc, plus the indie music scene both the rap-infused black music scene and the white rock scene...
