Jr. NBA National Training Camp gets underway

Twenty 12-14 year old kids from a pool of over 200 participants from Metro Manila and Luzon made it as finalists to the Jr. NBA National Training Camp in April in the Regional Selection Camp at the Jose Rizal University Gym in Mandaluyong City held last March 21.

The 20 finalists will be attending the National Training Camp along with 10 finalists each from Cebu and Davao for a three-day bootcamp at the JRU Gym from April 16-18, 2010. The camp will be presided upon by former NBA player and Chicago Bull BJ Armstrong and Jr. NBA Coach Frank Lopez after which eight participants will be named to the Jr. NBA Philippines All-Star Team.

PBA legends Ronnie Magsanoc, Elmer Cabahug and Cadel Mosqueda who have been chosen to be local Jr. NBA coaches and will also be on hand to assist the American coaches.

The 20 NCR and Luzon Jr. NBA camp finalists are: Javier Ricardo Consunji, Emilio Puno, Ferdinand Ravena III from Ateneo de Manila, Kyle Carlos, Mark Framil and Jeremiah Vizmonte of La Salle Green Hills, Alfred Sojulga and Henri Lorenzo Subido of Lourdes School Mandaluyong, Ranbill Angelo Tongco, Hans Sison and Cyle Jowee Lopez of San Beda College, Carl Bueno and Alvin Gerard Ungria of the University of Santo Tomas, Hubert Cani of the University of the East Grade School, Lorenzo Fernando Navarro of St. Francis School, Thristan Laman of Sta. Clara School of Antipolo, Shawn Brian Sabordo of the Pateros Catholic School, Noel Joseph Perez of Nineveh Academy of General Trias, Cavite, Arvin Angeles, Jr. of Valenzuela and Lance Villanueva of Marist School, Marikina.
