Time's up on Liverpool and Rafa Benitez

I feel bad about what's happening in Anfield. Don't get me wrong. I used to support Rafa Benitez until he began to take too many unwarranted shots at other managers and blaming others for his side's troubles.

Look, I don't like Man United as much as the next Liverpool fan but when your play doesn't match your words then maybe it's best to keep quiet. Whether the American owners have caused some of the problems or not, it is still Rafa who chooses the players and gets the team ready on the pitch. They had their chances last year but that seemed like a last gasp for a flawed team. They were like the New York Yankees of 2004. Yet unlike the Yankees of that year who fell to Boston, it seems the Reds only get up for the Red Devils and are 3-0 against them since last year. But what is important is the Premiership. ManU has equaled LFC in the total number of domestic titles and they are still on track to break it and thumb their noses down on the Merseyside.

Some were predicting LFC to win the Premiership this year. Of course, it is always nice, but if you followed the team carefully during the off-season, they weren't in sync and many were injured. Even days before the start of the season, they weren't okay. And it did show early in the EPL season.

After the 2-1 loss to Reading in the FA Cup this morning (evening in England), something really has to give. I wish things were better and we didn't have to get on Rafa's case because he certainly gave us Reds fans something to cheer about. But time is definitely up.
