Condolences to Coach Glenn

Do you want to know how Glenn Capacio played when he donned the FEU Tamaraws jersey in the early 1980s? Think RR Garcia only with more hellacious defense. So that should give you an idea why he has turned the keys to FEU's offense to their super guard who had a superb first year in the UAAP.

When Coach Glenn got to Purefoods in the PBA, he showed that he could gun with the best of them by reinventing himself as a defensive specialist. I think that he's brought a lot of moxie to the Tamaraws basketball program. For a first time coach, he showed his stuff and that he can turn a system around. His father passed away yet here he was coaching Game 3 of the PCCL. He had to deal with the heartache of losing in the UAAP and now in the PCCL. I snapped this shot before the game got going. He sat by his lonesome at the far end of the bench and didn't talk much. Who knows what was going inside his head. And I thought that when the Blue Eagles went up to him to offer their condolences one by one during the warm-ups -- that was nice and touching moment. If you click on the photo, know that I deliberately blurred it. But you can see the strain on his face. He looks tired and stressed. A far cry from when he first joined the Tamaraws three years ago.

I do hope that the Tams under Glenn win a title one day. But not at our expense. Condolences, Coach Glenn. And good luck next season.
