Halloween Thriller

It seemed that Joe Girardi borrowed Joe Torre's Midas Touch by staying with Andy Pettitte after he was rocked for three runs early on and by putting Nick Swisher in right field. Swish hit a solo HR that gave NY some breathing space. Even his getting Hideki Matsui to pinch hit (for another HR) was a good move. He then lifted Pettite, the all-time post-season wins leader with 17 for Joba Chamberlain and Damaso Marte who were excellent for two innings.
Alex Rodriguez broke out of his World Series slump to hit for a two-bagger and a home run that clanked off a television camera. His two-run shot was crucial as it woke New York out of its stupor and put them on the board after being down 3-0.
Now I'm not sure I want to second guess Joe Girardi but going with a three-man rotation in the World Series? Last time CC Sabathia pitched on three-games rest he got lit up by Philly. Now here's hoping that the Yankee ace steps up like Randy Johnson did for the D-Backs years ago also on three days rest.

And now, New York is up 2-1. They've got home field advantage back but so far, it hasn't meant anything.
