Taking Back Sunday

Tough loss for me and a lot of others as the Ateneo Blue Eagles left the Araneta Coliseum feeling blue after getting thrashed by the UE Red Warriors 88-68 in Game 2 of the UAAP Finals. Then Liverpool lost to Chelsea 0-2. So leave it up to my other sports teams to even it up.

New York Yankee 3rd baseman Alex Rodriguez launches the first of his two home runs in the sixth inning against the deposed AL Champs Tampa Bay Devil Rays. In this shot off D-Rays pitcher Wade Davis, Rodriguez scored three runs to make it 3-2. As the Yanks hit for the cycle, A-Rod stepped up to the plate once more and belted a Grand Slam, the 18th of his career, this time off Andy Sonnanstine. New York won 10-2 to close out their season at 103-59, the best in the majors.
New York Giants' wide receiver Steve Smith falls into the end zone for a touchdown in 2nd Quarter action at the Kansas City Chiefs' Arrowhead Stadium. The Giants beat the Chiefs 27-16 to go to 4-0 for the young NFL season. But there might be trouble as QB Eli Manning suffered another heel injury.
