The whole Japeth Aguilar case has more twists and turns than a telenovela. I’ve been holding back and re-assessing matters and checking on some leads before I write about it again. One thing is for sure… it’s a public relations game now.
A lot of people reacted to the shot I took at Ateneo alumni regarding being sanctimonious snobs. Well… if the shoe fits. If you feel that you don’t fall into that category of boorish fans then don’t be slighted. And I’ve not even begun and more of these morons were at it again during the Ateneo-Adamson match. You know… we (collectively) are no different from the La Sallians who take shots at their players and their coaches. Next week I will write about it so you know why I’ve declared war on them.
Regarding the scholar, thank you to those willing to pitch in. Will brief you all next week so you get to meet the student.
I had a fun at the Guidon Sports Seminar yesterday held at the SOM. Some 16 from the staff attended (sports staff only) and it was fun conveying techniques, ideas, and a different perspective on writing. I don’t say that it is “the way” because there are many ways. It is, however, the style I’ve formulated over the years learning from different people and from personal experiences. Some friends from UP (among several schools) are organizing one and I thank them for their interest. Start with that small corner of the world, guys.
Who do I think the UAAP Mythical Five will be:
Guards – Mark Barroca, Paul Lee, Dylan Ababou, Pari Llagas, Rabeh Al-Hussaini
MVP = unless Rabeh puts up monstrous numbers in the next games it’s Dylan Ababou
When looking at the pre-season, I said that Nonoy Baclao will win the MVP Award. I knew that Rabeh would still smoke everyone out there but Nonoy’s numbers are just really down. If you talk to them naman it isn’t about the stats but the title that matters. And that’s fine. The title, I agree, is more important.
Rookie of the Year - Jeric Teng
I find it funny and gratifying when people ask what I’m writing next. I have one on Brett Favre and Michael Jordan – two separate columns for BM. They'll be out this week.
